Your privacy is very important to me. I want to write a bit here to talk about how your info might be collected or used.
When accessing this website (tired of thinking about drinking), you can look around and click on things. You can leave comments on the blog without entering your email.
IP Addresses
IP addresses are used by your computer every time you are connected to the Internet. Your IP address is a number that is used by computers on the network to identify your computer. IP addresses are automatically collected by our web server as part of demographic and profile data known as “traffic data” so that data (such as the Web pages you request) can be sent to you.
Email Information
If you sign up for the daily emails that I send out, or if you send an email to me directly, your email address is stored in my mail system (Mailchimp). You can unsubscribe at any time.
How Do I Use the Information That You Provide to Me?
To be fair, I don’t use your info at all. I have your email address if you’ve given it to me, and lots of my subscribers create anonymous emails. I have your mailing address, but only if you’ve given it to me. If you buy something on this site, the payment is handled either through Gumroad or Paypal, and neither of those services tell me who you are, nor am I ever able to see your payment information.
Some websites share email lists with others, they call them ‘marketing partners’. I don’t do that. Ever. Not one time. Such information will not be sold or otherwise transferred to unaffiliated third parties.
I don’t obtain personally-identifying information about you when you visit the site, unless you choose to give it to me.
You want to change things
Just send me an email and say: “Can you remove my postal mailing list that I’ve sent you from the database” or “Can you show me how I signed up for the newsletters” or “Can I get taken off all the lists.” Of course, the answer is yes. Just ask.
Cookie Use for Retargeting
I use Facebook retargetting (as of May 2018). This means that IF you are logged into Facebook when you visit my website, then later you might see an ad from me on Facebook. That’s it. I don’t know who you are. Facebook doesn’t tell me. Also, I use Google tracking to measure traffic, like how many times this one page has been visited today.
Policy Changes
I might have to amend this privacy policy at any time with or without notice. However, please be assured that if the Privacy Policy changes in the future, I will not use the personal information you have submitted to me under this Privacy Policy in a manner that is materially inconsistent with this Privacy Policy, without your prior consent.
