Solstice to Solstice June 2024

From Sober in Richmond (The Solstice Guy): “I started my 100 Day challenge on the Solstice [and am celebrating 9.5 years sober on June 21st] … If there is anyone out there who needs some motivation to start – perhaps they can do the Solstice to Solstice. It really helped me to have the power of the whole darn earth behind me rather than a day or date on a calendar … It’s an incredibly magical thing, the Solstice to Solstice!”

Imagine it’s the longest day of the year (June 20th in the northern hemisphere). Imagine you’re sober. Today can be your Day 1 or maybe it’s your Day 50. Or 400. Doesn’t matter. Can you see yourself sober on December 21st? Winter Solstice. Stand here. Look ahead 180 days. Because if you think the view from day 100 is great, wait until you see 180 days.

Belle

I want to put this online, to hold myself accountable. I want to document the noise in my head. I'm tired of thinking about drinking. date of last drink: june 30, 2012

  • I have always enjoyed celebrating both winter and summer soltice. This is a brilliant idea! Count me in please 🙂

  • I am in for Solstice to Solstice – this is a special day for me as it’s my sisters birthday – sadly she passed away 5 years ago now, but I know if she was here she would be rooting for me. I love the idea of having a positive event associated with her birthday and with this magical time of year. 🙂 I hope the whole earth is behind me too!

  • … Sober Solstace for me. I know I will do this. I have done it before. 21 June 2024 – My special date. I am grateful to be feeling certain and committed. x

  • I’m here to commit to being sober solstice to solstice, nearly at 5 years sober now thanks to Belle

  • Solstice to Solstice, I’m in!! Today is day 1062 for me. 3 years on the horizon. 3 years of the power of Belle, self care, and protecting my wee sober chick above all else. There feels no better way to recommit to my sobriety than with the power of the whole darn earth behind me.

  • I think the Solstice to Solstice challenge is a good one but, hell, I’ll be glad if I can just make it to the Equinox in September! Know what I mean? That’s a big enough challenge for me to be starting with.

  • I definitely would like to try this, for the last time! Today is my sister’s 67th birthday and she has been sober for decades! In honor of her, I would like to choose this date as my Soberversary and to celebrate the winter solstice 180 days alcohol-FREE! Thank you!💕

  • Today is day 42. I always took a “break” in the Spring. I’m think this “break” should continue to the Winter Solstice and beyond! I like this new journey.

  • I’m 179 days today and I pledge to Mother Earth to continue through her beautiful solstices. Sister Moon also helps me; I pledge to her every time she is fullest.

  • Solstice to solstice sounds great .Today is day 68 sober for me, another 180 days on that will put me at day 248 . Being in Australia ,it’s our winter solstice today .Not that we are back to front ,just upside down . Happy days sober peeps !

  • I will be sober from Solstice to Solstice. Having the power of the entire earth behind me is a great motivator.

  • I did the 100 day challenge last year on June 20th. Now I’m to the next Solstice!! Thank you for the encouragement you provide Belle. Your stories helped me more than anything else those first 3 months. Love, love, love, Allison

  • I am very much looking forward to staying sober solstice to solstice! Today is day 125. Can’t wait to see the view on day 305!
