Solstice to Solstice June 2023

From Sober in Richmond (The Solstice Guy): “I started my 100 Day challenge on the Solstice [and am celebrating 8.5 years sober on June 21st] … If there is anyone out there who needs some motivation to start – perhaps they can do the Solstice to Solstice. It really helped me to have the power of the whole darn earth behind me rather than a day or date on a calendar … It’s an incredibly magical thing, the Solstice to Solstice!”

Imagine it’s the longest day of the year (Wednesday June 21st in the northern hemisphere). Imagine you’re sober. Today can be your Day 1 or maybe it’s your Day 50. Or 400. Doesn’t matter. Can you see yourself sober on December 21st? Winter Solstice. Stand here. Look ahead 180 days. Because if you think the view from day 100 is great, wait until you see 180 days.

I want to put this online, to hold myself accountable. I want to document the noise in my head. I'm tired of thinking about drinking. date of last drink: june 30, 2012

  • Is this blog mainly for women or can men join in?
I’m currently on day 23 after an initial 12 weeks of sobriety. Lots of Wolves around me, second time around which I am working through.🤞

  • How is everyone going on the solstice to solstice? It’s summer. I’m in France. Rosé is bloody everywhere!!! But I’m on Day 50, and motoring through my very first sober summer, in my sober car. With all Belle’s tools in the passenger seat. Beep! Beep!

  • I’ve just completed sober spring and I’m continuing with solstice to solstice .My life is better without alcohol for sure.

  • I’m in for Solstice to Solstice! Day 296 and cruising along in my little sober car with Belle and my tools. tools. I love a new goal!

  • I am more than in for solstice to solstice (plus 86 days as of today)….Lif is soooo much better totally sober.

  • Solstice to solstice – sounds so cosmical and inspiring! Absolutely in!
Day 12 moving to my first solstice.

  • First day sober for awhile. Waking up with that feeling of joie de vivre you never get after drinking.

  • I’m on Day 256, but love watching the sober days mounting up with countdowns like Solstice to Solstice. Also love knowing that I’m a member of a group from all over the world, who are strangers but united by our desire to be sober.

  • I’m in. Need some more support as I’ve been stopping and starting and driving myself mad. Day 13 today x

  • I stopped drinking in November last year and committed to be sober for the summer solstice. I am all in for continuing to the winter solstice and beyond! Life is just so much better when you’re not thinking about drinking. Granted, there’s nowhere to hide, and stuff comes up, but that won’t be forever, so I’m just trying to enjoy the ride. Having awareness is key, and reading all of Belle’s emails is such a crucial part of my tool kit. To anyone thinking this is to big a commitment. You can do it. There are so many people on the same path that can support and guide you…

  • Woohoo! I guess this means I just completed winter to summer, huh?🤣 Sign me up again! I’m 3 days shy of ONE YEAR sober. I couldn’t do it without you, Belle! xoxoxo

  • I love this inspiration and all the comments! My longest continuous streak is about 40 days, a few years back. It’s time to make this happen!!!

  • I love this idea, I’m on day 3 again. I want what all you long term sober folks have. Solstice to solstice!!
