Solstice to Solstice December 2021

From Sober in Richmond (The Solstice Guy): “I started my 100 Day challenge on the Solstice [and is celebrating 7 years sober tomorrow] … If there is anyone out there who needs some motivation to start – perhaps they can do the Solstice to Solstice. It really helped me to have the power of the whole darn earth behind me rather than a day or date on a calendar … It’s an incredibly magical thing, the Solstice to Solstice!”

Imagine it’s the shortest day of the year (tomorrow in the northern hemisphere). Imagine you’re sober starting tomorrow, December 21st. It can be your Day 1 or maybe it’s your Day 50. Or 400. Doesn’t matter.

Now, can you look ahead and see yourself sober on June 20th? Summer Solstice. Stand here. Look ahead 180 days. Because if you think the view from day 100 is great, wait until you see 180 days.

I want to put this online, to hold myself accountable. I want to document the noise in my head. I'm tired of thinking about drinking. date of last drink: june 30, 2012

    • update: i did it! still sober, still running towards joy. signed up to do it again– will remain AF summer solstice 2022 thru december solstice 2022. the earth/universe has my back!

  • I decided on this Winter Solstice (dec 21, 2021) that this would be my first day of sobriety. I have tried a number of times to quit alcohol, but without success. I don’t have a belief in a personal God – for me Nature and the Earth are my spiritual guides. So I enlisted the power of the Solstice, and looking towards more days of light. Then my daughter told me about the Solstice to Solstice challenge. I am now day 13 sober, and feeling great about it!

  • Hell yeah, managed my 1st sober Xmas Eve (in the pub!) and Xmas day. Started Boxing Day raring to go instead of bloated, hungover and tired. Solstice to solstice feels like a really satisfying goal. I’m in x

  • Here’s to ‘the whole darn Earth’ behind us! Needing extra motivation this dreary time of year to keep going on a little over 18 months.

  • I am in. Solstice to solstice…this is Day One for me for the umpteenth time but I will never give up. Love to all of you.

  • Id like to be sober from Solistice to Solistice but I also know the reality of how hard it is to break a habit, especially one that has developed over years and years 🙏 I will do my best !

  • Day 10 for me. Recently managed over 15 months sober then lost the last 6 months as thought I could try moderating again. Just doesn’t work for me. So happy to be be here and be sober 🙂

  • Count me in for the Solstice to Solstice challenge! I’m 69 days sober today. I’ve always wanted to do meaningful things to reflect the changes in seasons but have always been too drunk or hungover to make it happen. Looking forward to many seasons filled with all the things I never got around to while boozing!

  • Hi, I’m on day 323 and feeling SO grateful and glad to be AF. I definitely want to be AF for Solstice to Solstice, sign me up!! I love the daily emails Belle and find them and your other sober supports a huge help. Thank you for all you do.🙏🏼💕

  • solstice to solstice… Yes! I am on day 4. I have made it to 4+ months several times, but this feels doable for the first time in my life and what a great way to think about it.

    • Jess W you WILL do it I know you will! (This is The Solstice Guy!) The earth is massive as it spins on its axis and it knows the way to 21 June 2022. It has done this trip billions of times she won’t get lost, she won’t question or judge you. Enjoy the ride. Mother Earth will never let us down! Hang on in there!

  • I’m in! This will be my by 5th solstice to solstice challenge, I like to tune into the planet rather than a calendar so tomorrow will be my New Year’s Day as well! It’s also day 875 of continuous days sober thanks to you Belle. I’m so grateful I found you, Thankyou for everything that you do x
