Solstice to Solstice December 2020

From Sober in Richmond (The Solstice Guy): “I started my 100 Day challenge on the Solstice [and is celebrating 6 years sober today] … If there is anyone out there who needs some motivation to start – perhaps they can do the Solstice to Solstice. It really helped me to have the power of the whole darn earth behind me rather than a day or date on a calendar … It’s an incredibly magical thing, the Solstice to Solstice!”

Imagine it’s the shortest day of the year [in the northern hemisphere!]. Imagine you’re sober. Today can be your Day 1 or maybe it’s your Day 50. Or 400. Doesn’t matter.

Now, can you look ahead and see yourself sober on June 20th? Summer Solstice. Stand here. Look ahead 180 days. Because if you think the view from day 100 is great, wait until you see 180 days.

I want to put this online, to hold myself accountable. I want to document the noise in my head. I'm tired of thinking about drinking. date of last drink: june 30, 2012

  • I recently did 130 days sober and thought I could moderate. Tried on Thanksgiving and several times there after only to fail miserably. I want a life without alcohol!!! Today is my day 1. I drifted from supports. This time I am going to try different!

  • I would love to do the solstice to solstice but I’m worried I can’t do it. 180 days seems like forever. I keep re-living days 0-7 over and over again and seem stuck in this hamster wheel and I’m just exhausted. Today is Day 3 (again) and I’m jealous of everyone who can make it past Day 10. I’m really working on my positive self-talk and this is my first time ever reaching out on a blog so hopefully this time is different. “Tired of thinking about drinking” is so fitting for how I’ve been feeling lately.

  • I am trying different this time. I have never counted days in all the times I have tried to quit drinking over the past 10 years. I am on Day 106 today (I just counted). I can see a sober summer solstice.

  • Yes please – Looking forward to celebrating one year alcohol free on january 30 and was wondering about the next goal and there it is… my next goal. Solstice to solstice it is then.

  • I’d like to do Solstice to Solstice. Day 227 for me today so this will take me beyond my year soberversary 😃

  • This is my first day. Day 1. I’m really praying that this time sticks. This is a great plan. To do from winter to summer solstice 💞

    • Dear Kristen … DAY 1! Good for you. This is The Solstice Guy. It will stick this time. It will. The Earth knows where she is going … she will get you to Day 180 as we approach Summer Solstice. You’re now on a journey that is unstoppable. Go for it. You will get there. I guarantee it.

  • I commit to being sober solstice to solstice – today is my day 510 sober and the solstice is a great day to feel hopeful about the future

  • I commit to being sober winter solstice to summer solstice today I am 898 days sober and I need to recommit to keep myself and my mind on track ❤️
