I want to put this online, to hold myself accountable. I want to document the noise in my head. I'm tired of thinking about drinking. date of last drink: june 30, 2012

  • I went to the family Christmas gathering and although I really love them all, I got “peopled out” pretty quickly! I became that person washing dishes, walking the dog, playing with the kids. Sadly, I didn’t think I could get through it all sober, and so I am now starting my 100 days over… but looking forward to a sober New Year’s Eve. It will be nice to wake up on January 1 without a hangover!

  • Wow, this was such a great Christmas gift. One of my gifts to myself was NO Internet or email from the 24th till today, but I really wished I’d listened when posted! And I’m going to print that t-shirt! Thanks, Belle, and all who’ve commented. (Yeah, I get it, I totally get it, and I’ll be listening to this several times…thanks, and hugs)

  • I think I may be experiencing PAWS because at about day 100 I started having fits of rage. Shouting and breaking dishes. These fits of rage started the day before Thanksgiving. Thank you. Maybe I am too used to dealing with Holiday stress with wine. I didn’t think PAWS was a real thing but now I do.

  • Thanks for the support around the holidays. Like you Belle I have a birthday at this time. No one gave me wine but I received cards from 2 dear friends/work colleagues that each had a bottle of wine on the front. And each card said Happy 60th birthday. Wow. Staying sober turns back the clock. I’m now 62 with 16 months sober. 🙂

  • Turned out to be a great Christmas Eve. Lots of wine and beer in the house to to mention whiskey. I had tonic and then ice water. All is calm and peaceful in my life.

  • Great audio! I was hanging out with the young folks at a Christmas party at my house last night. The adults were taste testing three kinds of Christmas ale and the teens were pleading with me to have “just one.” I said no, but they could feel free to try one of the spicy ginger beers I was drinking. Most of them groaned at the idea, but one young man said, “I’ll have one, Hank, because I don’t drink either.” What a perceptive and sweet kid! Anyway, all the best to you and Mr. B this Christmas, and to all us non-drinking folks. ?

  • This is fantastic! As I was listening my husband walked in the door with my favorite bottle of wine. A reserve, special edition bottle no less. It’s the third bottle I’ve been given this week! Fuck you wolfie. Not once, not twice but three times. Staying sober.
