Audio: Anonymous Noise

This morning. First morning in the new apartment. and i couldn’t wait to record a new podcast for my weekly podcast subscription thingy.

OK, so we moved yesterday. Bad news: a slight mishap with our one and only box of dishes (which i talk about in the audio, and what I think this MEANS).

But there is lots of good news too: very big, very bright apartment, with southern exposure and some light all day. we even sat on our mini balcony yesterday suntanning at about 5 pm. i will be able to grow rosemary for the first time in my life!

in this podcast i share my moving-induced insight on taking things personally (yes, it’s possible for me to take noise personally. yes, it’s all about me apparently.)

And you can hear the new apartment traffic noises. I know – you can’t wait, right?

OK, here’s a 2-ish minute extract from the podcast; the entire full audio podcast for subscribers is about 10ish minutes long.

Please leave a comment after you listen to the extract … so that i know you’re out there.

I want to put this online, to hold myself accountable. I want to document the noise in my head. I'm tired of thinking about drinking. date of last drink: june 30, 2012

  • I hope you are totally nesting in your new apartment! Not sure – is this the place where there is chocolate???

  • Hi Belle – i have been hyper-sensitive to everything especially emotional issues my entire adult life. I always just thought it was “part of my nature”. Never did it occur to me that it was the booze. Makes perfect sense.Holly

  • Congrats, Belle and Mr Belle on the new lace. Bright sunny apartments are the b est. We get morning sun in our kitchen and afternoon sun in the living room and bedroom–it’s the very best of both worlds !~! Here’s to your new dishes and that glorious herb garden in your future. Hugs to you from sunny and HOT San Francisco where it will be nearly record-breaking temps of 80F (27C) and topping 100F (38C) in the City today with hotter tomorrow.

  • Good Morning from Cali. I’m assuming you don’t live here because it’s early, and you posted before me. I just moved into a new apartment too. I love this idea of a podcast, and I’m not a subscriber, so I did not get to hear the whole thing, but this is a great idea! When I was first getting sober, I would listen to all those audios of speaker meetings and they really helped me. I am going to consider subscribing and putting some of my blogs on a podcast. Thank you for sharing! Enjoy your herbs – the rosemary and such! Oh, and the coolest thing about hearing your voice, is re-reading your post and actually hearing you while I’m reading. It makes it much more personal. Very cool!
