I want to put this online, to hold myself accountable. I want to document the noise in my head. I'm tired of thinking about drinking. date of last drink: june 30, 2012

  • My drinking life was one of frenzied activity following alcohol withdrawal. I would binge drink and at the beginning of the binge I would accomplish a lot around the house. I would paint, plaster, and work in the garden. Eventually I would have so much alcohol on board that would pass out, then wake up, then drink, then pass out. When I would stop drinking I would go through withdrawals. Part of this period was characterized by some kind of adrenaline rush that occurred after the alcohol stopped suppressing my nervous system. During this phase I would also get much done around the house plus jog and bike.
Now that I am not drinking, I am tired all the time and wondering if I will ever have energy again…let alone experience a passion for something.

    • i think there’s a difference between adrenaline life and real life. and once we’re sober for awhile then real life settles in. wet get things done, but we don’t have to be in a panic to get moving. it does happen, just for me it took a little bit of sober time to find my even balance of momentum and self-care and slothfulness. hugs xo

  • wow, these are beautiful. What a talented group of people here 🙂 These made me smile and dream!
