husband paints hallway. wife makes bread.

kugelhoff

run in the cold grey. sunday market mostly abandoned. the oyster man stands beside his baskets, waiting. past the big catholic church, too early. silent. breakfast of kugelhoff and strawberries, eaten standing in the kitchen, still dressed in running clothes. husband paints hallway. wife makes bread. wife looks around chaotic apartment, everything moved around, dust, ladder, plaster flakes. this is how he wants to spend his weekend. who is she to complain (out loud). she finds a corner of the couch, opens book. the sun comes out. happy easter sunday.

Belle

I want to put this online, to hold myself accountable. I want to document the noise in my head. I'm tired of thinking about drinking. date of last drink: june 30, 2012

After Enlightenment, chop wood and carry water.

    Happy Easter to all.

  • Love the headline style title. Sounds like a good plan–a bit of work (for Mr. Belle) and a bit of relaxation (for Ms. Belle). Isn’t that how it is supposed to be? Happy Easter to both of you. I hope the Easter Bunny brings you at least a smidgeon of chocolate.
