ack. all is well.

ack. sorry missed a day yesterday. my follow-up appt with the cardiologist in the morning turned into an immediate referral to the specialist. Thankfully after an overnight in the hospital for ‘observation’, i’m now safely back home again less than 24 hours later and i’m cured πŸ™‚ (well at least for now.)

so weird to go from having a weird heart rate to having a normal heart rate in such a short period of time. When they were discharging me this morning, i sat there with my coat on for 20 minutes. Are you sure i’m ok to go? yesterday was yucky and now i’m fine? yup. go back to running in two weeks. go on vacation on monday. oh and here’s a prepaid ticket to get a cab to go home…

so now i’m home. a whirlwind 24 hrs. i need a shower, and i will catch up on my emails. i’m here πŸ™‚ and i’m feeling super great.

I want to put this online, to hold myself accountable. I want to document the noise in my head. I'm tired of thinking about drinking. date of last drink: june 30, 2012

  • Feck!! I missed the news that you were ill. Feckin ‘night shifts. I’m sort of glad though, cos now I know all is well again.
Take it easy for as long as it takes, eh? Very best wishes for a Happy Christmas, restful holiday and a quiet start to 2014.

  • WOW what a wild experience w/ a great ending! So glad you’re FIXED now and can relax and really enjoy your vacation w/o anything hanging over your head. • Glad you’re OK! My brother had a racing heart/abnormal heart rate some time ago, and he ended up taking meds for a while and then it went away. It was congenital…but the medication made it go away. Not sure, maybe this is your sitch? Have a relaxing vacay… xxx

    • they tried drugs with me but my heart never really responded properly. so instead they literally went in by catheter and removed the part of the heart that wasn’t working, it took 22 minutes, and then they sent me home again today good-as-new … it’s truly weird and glorious at the same time : )

      • So glad to hear that they fixed your heart beat! I know you didn’t have a choice for surgery…but I think you are so brave!!! So happy for you! Now go rest and enjoy your vacation with your hubby! hugs

      • it was the tiniest of surgeries (done by catheter) and honestly I was tired of feeling crummy so I was able to give up control and just let someone else fix me! once I did that, I was a bit numb to whatever they wanted to try … and they tried 3 things and the third thing (catheter) worked. so for that I’m truly grateful. and I’m sure there’s a less or 12 in there for me too : )

  • As the wife of a cardiologist, just know, they have to err on the side of extreme caution. Hence the overnight in the hospital. Any abnormal heart rhythm brings on loads of testing and sometimes observation when the tests aren’t conclusive.
Enjoy your vacation, and try not to worry. If they let you go home, they know you are okay.
I am glad you are okay.
    Hugs

    • thanks for this perspective! I was also super grateful that the cardiologist who did my treatment yesterday at the hospital was the same one who came up to discharge me this morning. it was nice to see his face again under better circumstances. and in the taxi on the way home, I said to Mr. B, it must be nice to be a cardiologist who has patients like me that he can just go in and surgically fix and then send home again … can’t do that in psychiatry …

  • So glad your ok! This must be so nerve wreaking for you. So happy you have your vacation planned! Enjoy the getaway with Mr Belle. Don’t worry about us~ we will still be here when you return home!
