Audio: Ellie Schoenberger (part 3)

I’ve just uploaded part 3 of my extended conversation with Ellie Schoenberger for my weekly sober podcast thingy. and holy Part 3 is 20 minutes long 🙂

I ask some difficult questions in part 3 of our conversation:

“What’s it like to relapse when you’re the ‘public face’ of sobriety?”

“Was there a time in your childhood where it wasn’t safe for you to be you”

And then I ask about her marriage.

If you click the big blue button, you can hear an extract from part 3. Ellie is talking about what happened when she relapsed and had to tell everyone. Her wolfie voice told her it would be terrible, and instead she says “what I got was a stack of mail that was a foot high…”

The best quotable moment is when Ellie says:

“All of my OK-ness came from whether or not YOU thought I was OK.”

Please leave a comment below after you listen to the extract and I’ll pick one comment to be my sober rockstar favourite comment of the day 🙂

    1. yes, you can purchase podcasts one by one once they’ve been archived from the subscribers’ page. so in about 6 weeks from now it’ll be available as an individual audio. alternatively, if you sign up now to do the monthly podcast thingy, there are 10 audios on the site already for you to access with more added each week … but the short answer to your question is yes, in about 6 weeks. hugs from me.

  1. I have no idea where it came from for me, but I still struggle with that now – the whole ‘do other people think I’m OK’ thing. I think I am getting better though. I used to want to make myself invisible so that people wouldn’t judge me…Now I think I’m OK with being ‘seen’.

  2. I was so happy to wake up this morning and find this in my inbox. Three weeks ago I had never heard of Belle or Ellie and I have been fascinated by both of your stories and love listening to the two of you talk to each other.
