Open Call: New Year’s Day

i had an an open call on American Thanksgiving and one for Christmas … and i’m thinking it might be lovely to get together again and do an Open Call for New Year’s Day. Topic? I’m open to suggestions (email me questions/ideas) but it might be fun to brainstorm further the idea of New Year / New You …

(I will shift the times for open calls each time i have one, so that different time zones are favoured, sorry in advance if this one doesn’t work for you.)

I want to put this online, to hold myself accountable. I want to document the noise in my head. I’m tired of thinking about drinking. date of last drink: june 30, 2012

  1. I live around the corner from a church whose pastor always put up the most creative signs in front. This morning going to work, the sign said: Daily devotion, not yearly resolution. That’s how I think of New Year’s — changing something on a constant improvement basis, not making a single resolution. As for me, I have a 13 year old, and I’m way past the “wanting to go out stage.” Even when I was drinking, I’d stay home, maybe make something good to eat, watch the ball-drop special on TV….. and be asleep by 10.

  2. I would be watching Lilyhammer too, if I had not already watched EVERY episode!! Feeling happy to be staying home, and not having to attend any more 8 hour parties. Wishing everyone lots of Health + Happiness in 2014!! I will try to get in on this call tomorrow.
